Day 1. Arrive at Kunming (Dinner)

Today we arrive at Kunming, the capital of Yunnan province. Famous for its year-round mild climate, Kunming is often called Spring City. On arriving in the city, we transfer to our hotel for refreshment. Then we stroll at the Golden Horse and Green Rooster Arch Gate Pedestrian Street which is one of the most welcomed pedestrian streets for locals. Overnight in Kunming.

 

 

 

 

 

Day 2. Kunming/Dali (Breakfast, Dinner)

After breakfast we drive to Dali (4-5h). Upon our arrival, we visit the Three White Pagoda, which has history more than 1000 years, used to be the sacred Buddhism temple in the flourishing old dynasty in south part of China. In the late afternoon, we spend our time to explore the unique Dali Old Town. Overnight in Dali.

 

 

 

 

 

Day 3. Dali (Breakfast, Dinner)

In the morning, we will explore the Morning Market in Dali old town to touch the local people’s life. Then we will walk around Erhai Lake & the local villages nearby. It is the largest highland lake next to Dianchi and one of the seven biggest fresh water lakes in China. Its name means "Ear-shaped Sea” in Chinese, which implies that the lake is ear shaped and as large as a sea. After that, we will drive to Zhoucheng village to take a look the local family doing Tie-dye. Leaving the village, we take the cable car up to Chan Mountain to have an overview of Dali and then hike on the mountain for about 2 hours. Then we will have free time in the late afternoon to explore the city by ourselves. Overnight in Dali.

 

 

 

 

 

Day 4. Dali/Shaxi (Breakfast, Dinner)

After breakfast, we drive to Shaxi  by highway. On the way, we will stop for a visit of Xizhou market & Xizhou Town. As the birthplace of Dali culture, Xizhou Old Town is a main residential district as well as a famous historic cultural town of Bai Nationality. Leaving Xizhou, we continue to drive to Shaxi. Upon arriving, we start our visit with Shaxi Old Town. Together with the Great Wall, the Ohel Rachel Synagogue of Shanghai and the Christian Pagoda, and the Monastery of Shaanxi Province, Shaxi has been added to the list of internationally significant sites by the World Memorial Fund for Architecture. With agreeable weather, clean water, and abundant products, it’s called the hometown of honey and milk. Overnight in Shaxi.

 

 

 

 

 

Day 5. Shaxi/Lijiang (Breakfast, Dinner)

After breakfast, we drive to Shibaoshan Cave. Shibaoshan, also known as Shanbao Mountain, is the center part of the ‘Three Parallel Rivers”, a UNESCO World Nature Heritage Site. With an area of about 25 square km, the mountain has fascinating and beautiful landscapes. When hiking on it, as the elevation changes, we may be able to experience different seasons and different weathers within the distance of a few kilometers. Leaving Shibaoshan, we drive to Lijiang. On the way, we stop at Jianchuan local market to further experience the local life. Upon arriving, we explore the Black Dragon Pool with Naxi Museum. Covering an area of about 40 hectares, this huge lake is a natural habitat for all kinds of waterfowl and fish. We take a walk around the lake and to the several temples surrounding it. In the evening, we have some free time in the famous Lijiang Old Town. Overnight in Lijiang.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Day 6. Lijiang (Breakfast, Dinner)

Today we start our day with first visit the Morning Market, where we can see dozens of local mushrooms as well as frogs and things we can’t have opportunity to imagine in the west. After that, we go to visit the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, which is 5600 meters high. This is a true haven for wild flora and fauna, of which it is said that about a quarter of China’s plants can be found in its vicinity. We take Yunshanping cable car trip to the top of one of the peaks for an amazing view over the surroundings, and then enjoy the ‘Impressions of Lijiang’ show with the mountain as the backdrop. After that, we continue our visit to Baisha village. Baisha Village is the village in the Lijiang Basin at the foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Houses there were built of a peculiar rough stone without plaster or painting. From there, we proceed to Yuhu village and Yufeng Temple. Yuhu village was one of the first residential places of Naxi ethnic group. Located at the southern foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, Yufeng Temple is a historical witness of the peaceful coexistence and syncretism of multinational cultures and religions and a place that helped the Naxi culture develop and enrich. Day 7. Lijiang/Liming (Breakfast, Dinner)

In the morning, we have a visit to the Zhiyun Temple. Then we drive to Liming. On the way we will also explore the local minority village, Lisu Village. Then we visit Thousand Turtle Mountain by cable car up and walk down. In southwest Liming village, Thousand Turtle Mountain is a lot of weathering formation crack shape structure red rock, one of the mountain slope shape is like ten million small turtle to natural and orderly make up a large turtle, as if marching towards the sun. Overnight in Liming.

 

 

 

 

 

Day 8. Liming/Tiger Leaping Groge (Breakfast, Dinner)

Today we drive to Tiger Leaping Gorge. We will we stop at the Yangtze First Bend and the Tiger Leaping Gorge, where the waters of the Yangtze River rushes into this narrow gorge. Upon arrival, we will start our 6-7 hours hiking until getting to the Tea House Guest House.  [Qiaotou-NAXI GH-28 Turns-Tea Horse GH (11KM uphill trekking, about 6-7Hrs)]. Overnight in Tiger Leaping Gorge.

 

 

 

 

 

Day 9. Tiger Leaping Gorge/Shangri-la (Breakfast, Dinner)

In the morning we continue hiking at Tiger Leaping Gorge [Tea Horse GH-Halfway GH (uphill)-Tina’s GH (downhill) (9KM, about 3.5-4H)]. Leaving the gorge, we drive towards the Tibet Autonomous Region and the north of Yunnan Province. On the way we explore Baishui Terrace, located at the foot of Haba Snow Mountain, from its base to its top, measures 140 meters and spans some 160 meters in width at its widest place, making Baishui Terrace the largest such set of terraces in China. In the late afternoon we reach the town of Zhongdian, which is often referred to as Shangri-La. Overnight in Zhongdian.

 

 

 

 

 

Day 10. Shangri-la (Breakfast, Dinner)

In the morning, we trek from Ringha Monastery to formal Jiantan Hotel (3.5-4H) to experience the local life. We stop for a traditional tea with a Tibetan family and hear from them about their daily life. Then in the afternoon we visit the monks of Yunnan’s largest Tibetan monastery for their puje ceremony in which they chant from Tibetan scripts. Songzanlin Monastery, dating back to 1679, lies at the foot of Foping Mountain and is rich with Buddhist treasures. In the evening, we explore the wonderful Old Town. Overnight in Zhongdian.

 

 

 

 

 

Day 11. Shangri-la/Deqin (Breakfast, Dinner)

After breakfast, we drive to Deqin (5-6H). Deqin County is under the administration of Deqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, located in the northwest of Yunnan province, China. Deqin occupies the northwest corner of Diqing Prefecture, bordering the Tibet Autonomous Region to the northwest and Sichuan to the northeast. It is located in the central part of the Hengduan Mountains, and contains the valleys of the Salween, Mekong, and Jinsha Rivers. On the way we visit the Napa Lake. Shangri-La Napa Lake Nature Reserve is the most scenic area of the plateau, and it is also the county's largest grassland. Then we will visit the big bent of the Golden Sand River and the Dhadrumping Monastery. Overnight in Deqin.

 

 

 

 

 

Day 12. Deqin/Xidang village/Upper Yubeng (Breakfast, Dinner)

Today is a day full of adventure. We will have a full-day hiking at Yubeng village area, Meili Snow Mountain. Meili Snow Mountain towers over the landscape in the west of Deqin County in the Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. Also known as 'Prince Snow Mountain', it is the most sacred mountain in the world. Meili Mountain has long been famous for Kang Karpo Peak Yunnan's tallest mountain - 6,740m above sea level. Among one of the eight sacred mountains the Tibetans worship, it looks like gilded when the sun rises. There are 13 lesser peaks around it, each more than 6,000m above sea level. [Drive to Xidang Village (45KM, and about 1.5-2 hrs).  Trekking from Xidang Village to Upper Yubeng (20km, about 6-7 hrs)]. Overnight in Upper Yubeng.

 

 

 

 

 

Day 13. Upper Yubeng/Lower Yubeng (Breakfast, Dinner)

Today will be another adventurous day. We will have another full-day hiking to enjoy the splendid scenery. We continue to trek from Lower Yubeng to the Shenpu Sacred Waterfalls and back to Lower Yubeng (14KM, about 6-7H). Overnight in Lower Yubeng.

 

 

 

 

 

Day 14. Lower Yubeng/Deqing (Breakfast, Dinner)

Today we continue our hiking at Yubeng village area. We trek from Lower Yubeng back to Xidang village (20KM, about 6-7H). After that we meet our driver and drive back to Deqin. If time permits, on the way we will visit the Mingyong village. Overnight in Deqin.

 

 

 

 

 

Day 15. Deqin/Zhongdian (Breakfast, Dinner)

In the early morning, we go to Meili Snow Mountain to enjoy Sunrise at Feilaisi. Feilaisi is the best place to watch golden peaks of Meili Mountain at sunrise. After that, we go to the Mingyong Glacier. It sits at the foot of Kagebo Peak and looks like a long piece of white silk. Running from 5,500 meters down to 2,700 meters, it is only 800 meters above Lancang River. Mingyong Glacier is one of the few low altitude glaciers in the world. We then drive back to Zhongdian (5-6h). Overnight in Zhongdian.

 

 

 

 

 

Day 16. ZhongdianQKunming (Breakfast, Dinner)

Today after strolling around the local daily market, we go to visit the Pudacuo Scenic Region including Shudu Lake, Bita Lake resort. Being the highest lake in Yunnan Province at 3500 meters above sea level, this is a great spot to enjoy the beautiful wilderness and landscapes of the region. We will hike about 4 hours there. After visiting the Orphanage, if time permits, we will explore the Baiji Monastery in the old town. In the evening we take the night flight back to Kunming. Overnight in Kunming.

 

 

 

 

 

Day 17. Kunming (Breakfast, Dinner)

In the morning we will pay a visit to Green Lake Park, the most beautiful park in the central of city. You can not only enjoy the beautiful scenery, but also watch the locals doing morning exercise, such as Taiji. After that, we embark on a two-hour drive out of town to the famous Stone Forest. Many legends tell the story of the creation of this unique geological phenomenon, but only seeing it for us can reveal the entire majestic landscape. It is said that ‘visiting Yunnan without seeing the Stone Forest is like not visiting the province at all’. During our visit to the forest, we meet the people of the Sani, an ethnic group living in the area, who wear colorful embroidered traditional clothing. After exploring the park, we go to visit the Birds and Flower market. Overnight in Kunming.

 

 

 

 

 

Day 18. Kunming/Depart (Breakfast)
